I competed as a junior athlete and understand what it takes to be successful.

A FEW IMPORTANT GUIDELINES I’VE LEARNED

  • Be consistent with training

  • Follow USAC guidelines on weekly training hours based on the athlete’s sport age

  • Increase training load gradually regardless of results

  • Implement cross-training

  • Understand the importance of recovery to prevent overreaching

  • Focus on the process of training rather than the result of races

  • Reinforce that the training process looks different for each athlete

  • Measure progress over months and years instead of day by day

My job as a coach is to promote the development and well-being of the athletes I work with.
